Thailand's National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) is expected to auction a total of 45 MHz in third generation (3G) bandwidth in October, which will serve as another step in the country's rollout of 3G mobile phone services.
In anticipation of the auction, the NBTC has set a reserve price for licenses at 4.5 billion THB (US$141.4 million) for five MHz of bandwidth. The minimum price will first need to be approved by NBTC's board, which is scheduled to meet on the issue this week. The article from Dow Jones Newswires can be found here.
We will continue to monitor these developments and provide updates. Please see here for more information on the NBTC.
