It was reported by Manager Online on January 12 that the  National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC)   will hold nationwide public hearings on the draft frequencies master plan, the draft telecommunication businesses master plan and the draft broadcasting businesses master plan on 10 February 2012.

Colonel Sethapong Malisuwan, Vice-Chairman of the NBTC and Chairman of the Telecom Sub-board, expected that an auction of the 3G mobile phone service licenses can be held in the third quarter of this year (after the master plans are finalized and issued by the NBTC).
