Thailand’s Labor Court issued new rules of procedure in relation to labor cases which was published in the Royal Thai Government Gazette on 18 September 2013 and took effect on 19 September 2013. One interesting aspect of the new rules is that, subject to the Court’s permission, the rules now expressly provide that leading questions may be asked during direct examination of a witness. Generally, these new procedural rules officially codify existing practice in certain areas, for example in relation to the determination of the issues and the witness examination process.
