On Tuesday, 22 November the Thai Cabinet approved a recommendation to postpone the country-wide increase in the daily minimum wage from 1 January 2012 until 1 April 2012. The minimum wage will be increased to 300 Thai Baht per day in Greater Bangkok and Phuket and will gradually be increased to this amount in Thailand’s other provinces by 1 January 2013. The new minimum wage will then remain in effect through 2015. A discussion of labour laws in general can be found here.
