As reported in the Bangkok Post, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) is requesting that the Ministry of Labour delay implementation of the new 300 Baht minimum wage, currently scheduled to come into effect for the whole country on 1 January 2013, for two years until 1 January 2015. The FTI is also requesting a seven percent reduction in the corporate tax rate for small and medium enterprises as well as soft loans provided for the purchase of machinery.
We will continue to monitor these requests to see if they are granted by the Ministry of Labour.
